Terrence McCarthy has 30 years experience in all aspects of the engineering and construction of major infrastructure projects including bridges, tunnels and transit projects. He holds degrees from Wentworth Institute of Technology, Northeastern University and Harvard University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Mr. McCarthy manages design and construction projects and program development from conceptual planning and funding requirements to facilitating grant applications for the MBTA's capital expansion and modernization programs.
As a Director of Design and Construction, he is responsible for the Operations Projects Group. The group's main focus is on State of Good Repair and System-wide Capital Improvement Projects. The group concentrates their efforts into three main areas: Operational Support Projects, System-wide Power Improvement Program and the Red Line/Orange Line Infrastructure Improvement Program.
